What are Intake Services?

Intake Services help families and individuals with the initial step of accessing services provided by the South Carolina Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (SCOIDD). This service involves gathering and submitting necessary documentation to determine eligibility for SCOIDD services. Key documents may include a signed "Permission to Evaluate" form along with relevant psychological, medical, social, and educational records.
An Intake Provider will work closely with each family to ensure all documentation is accurate and complete, assisting them through the Intake process. This step is crucial for determining eligibility for available OIDD services, connecting individuals to the resources they need for their unique circumstances.
Once an individual is referred for DDSN Intake services, Great Kids & Awesome Adults can be chosen as the Intake Provider, supporting the individual and their family through compassionate and effective guidance in accessing essential services.
